Day 2: Exploring Williamsburg
Hey! So I stumbled upon a hidden trove of photos from NYC (aka I didn’t realize that I had done everything in these photos on the same day as the concert) so I decided It’s about time I posted them.
Sorry I’ve been so delayed with posting. I know I’m normally on top of these things but lately I’ve been avoiding this blog. I think it’s because I feel guilty I...
life lessons brought on by father time and my...
God, you know when you sit around and do nothing but think about all the stupid stuff you’ve done in the past? Right now is one of those moments. And it’s funny because during this past week I’ve been confronted, in one way or another, with aspects of my past and the emotions behind it. It’s actually more funny than like, sad or nostalgic. Actually, it’s...
Hello
Hey guys.
So I have not neglected my NY trip but I grow bored of editing photos from time to time so I will get to that later. I know right? And just when it was starting to get good too. With my OWS photos … Photos of cool people I’ve met … All of my stories about the interactions I’ve made with those people …
But don’t fret! I promise I’ll get to it!!...
Sorry [oh man this is post 600]
Hey my pals, sorry for being so delayed with everything. I’ve been a little busy. My cousin is over from Rochester NY so I’ve been hanging out with her and stuff. Although I’ve got a few updates I’d like to share with you once I get the chance.
Promise I’ll be back soon.
love love love!
Oh, and apparently in my lack of blogging, I missed out on all the...
My Day
Alright so vimeo is being a little bitch and so I’m holding off on posting my videos. Instead, I’m going to just update you on my well-being. I think it’s been long enough since I’ve last talked about myself fully so here we go:
Hey. Sup?
What did I do today? Well let me tell you what’s going on in general. I have recently caught a cold. Not an awful one, but a cold...
Uploading and Thinking
I’m uploading my videos right now and watching some music videos etc. and it got me thinking how fuckin’ awesome music is.
Isn’t it crazy that someone or a group of people could create something that so many people around the world are able to relate to? Like, what would we do without music? How would we all feel like we’re in “this” together without having...
Day 2: Foo Fighters
Okay so here it is.
Man, I was so excited to see The Foo Fighters. I will admit, I’m not a die hard fan and don’t really care that Grohl was in Nirvana. I love the sound of Dave Grohl’s voice and think Taylor Hawkins is an absolute babe. Their music strikes a chord with me and have enjoyed their presence in the world of music since the beginning of my ability to appreciate...
Day 2: New York Public Library [Manhattan]
So here I was. I made it to the New York Public Library. I had been here before but had never gone into it.
Luckily for me, I had come at a good time. The library is hosting an exhibition called A Century of Art, showing collections from the library since 1911. It was really an amazing show!
Had lots of interesting photos, drawing, paintings, etc.
Another thing that I had the...
Intermission
Got distracted. Went to a friends place. Currently eating spaghetti. I am also getting sick. My tattoo itches as well.
Shower time.
Day 2: Grand Central Terminal and 5th Ave
Anyways. I had a nice rant in the earlier post. Now let’s get down to some positive business. I still have a lot of photos to sift through and boy, it’s a little overwhelming! But I really want to put them all up for you guys to see how awesome NYC is and maybe inspire you all to take a trip of your own! Maybe not necessarily to NYC, but anywhere by yourself. You can find out a lot...
Just Thinking
Between everything that I do in my day, my favourite thing to do is daydream and think. Although sometimes I hate thinking, like when I’m trying to go to bed. WORST! But other times It’s nice to have a moment to reflect. And you know what I discovered today? I’m pretty darn sensitive.
I don’t know what started this, but lately I’ve been genuinely hurt by remarks or...
Day 1: Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum of...
Guys, guys, guys! I’m working on this whole blogging thing, I promise! Between hanging out with my pals (I’m looking at you Su) and work, and school, I don’t got much time yooo! Haha. I’m kidding. I wish I had more time to do this. Although sometimes I feel kind of bad that I spend so much time on the computer editing photos I’ve taken. But I guess if it’s for...
Day 1: Chelsea Art Galleries and General Wandering
Sidenote: Ah, I love The Foo Fighters. Currently listening to them now.
Okay so after wandering around Highline Park, we descended the heavens and made it back onto the busy streets of Manhattan in Chelsea. Alejandro then brought me to multiple galleries around the area where we saw a few good shows by really talented artists.
My fav show was the one at the David Zwirner Gallery which...
Day 1: Breakfast and Highline Park
Hey cool tumblr people. So I just had the longest day of my life. worked 1PM-10PM and both my stomach and throat hurt. Ugh. And I can’t stop eating anyways! And, of course, cheddar rice cakes. Mmmmm. For those of you who know me, it’s no mystery that I love those darn things. For those of you who don’t know me and are just finding this out now, don’t judge, it’s a...
Tattooed by Matt Arriola
I know I was going to go in order of my trip, but starting tomorrow, most of my friends will have seen my tattoo so I wanted to blog about it now.
So I decided way before I had even left for NYC that I wanted to get a tattoo. I just wasn’t entirely sure what of. I can tell you my ideas from before but it’s a little irrelevant now as I have clearly settled on the 2 that I got....
Day 1: Hostel
Okay my lovelies. Let’s get to it. My goal is to finish a day by tonight so come join me on the first chapter of one of the best trips of my life.
So I was super excited to leave Ottawa and a little nervous. I had never traveled to NYC on my own and I had never traveled on my own without staying at a hotel. In this case, I chose The New York Loft Hostel which I highly recommend. The staff...
My Trip
Hey friends. So 11 hours of busing home and a 3 hour nap and 1.5 hour class later, I’m again available on tumblr. I know it’s been a long time (4 days, so long, haha) but I promise you I have some amazing photos and so many amazing artists to share with you. My time spent in Brooklyn was probably the most enriching experiences as an artist. Manhattan was nice (especially in the Chelsea...
My tattoo artist from Greenpoint Tattoo Co. Chuck Donoghue is in this music video tattooing one of the members of the band, I Am the Avalanche. The song is called, Brooklyn Dodgers.
Heartbreaking
It breaks my heart to have seen so many friends come and go from my hostel. I’ve made so many amazing relationships. Another thing is how slow the pace is here in Ottawa. I feel like I should be on the go, but I’m not going anywhere.
I have a lot to share with you about my trip and it feels like I had been there forever.Right now I need to go to class though but I’ll be back.

That moment
That heartbreaking moment when you see your ex-boyfriend of 5yrs after over a year of not being in each others lives. You’re rendered a bit of a shaking mess at risk of cardiac arrest. You text or email your closest friends for comfort. All you can think of is how bad you look and all you can whisper is “holy shit.”
That bittersweet moment when, 10 minutes later, you’re...
New York Colour Palette
Today I ran some errands and then decided that maybe I should start to think about what I’ll wear to NYC. After rummaging through my closet/my bedroom floor, I’ve put together all of the essentials.
My scarf (Wilfred)
My tops (TNA, F21, H&M, Gap, Zara)
My bottoms (Old Navy, Talula, Wilfred, TNA)
I still need to figure out what coat I’ll wear as I hear the weather in...
I don't think you understand
I’m so, so, so, so excited to haul ass to NYC!!
My friend, Alejandro, lives there and I get to visit him/he gets to play tour guide for me while I’m there! Places I want to see are:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Been there before but it’s too pretty to pass up
Serendipity
MoMA (maybe, not too keen on this idea yet)
Highline Park
Century 21
Grand Central...
NEW YORK CITY IN 3 DAYS!
– Excitement.
Lipstick
You can now call me obsessed with lipstick. I feel like I might dye my hair darker to accommodate for these wonderful red shades. It’s that bad.
I wanted to keep it all matte but the #477 Black Cherry colour was too tempting. Then we have #006 Really Red and #003 Mauve It Over. All Revlon because it was cheap and I’m not sure how serious I will be with this whole thing...
My Process
Hey, I was looking through my iPhone and realized I had some process shots of my drawing I was working on back in the beginning of October. I figure I should show you guys or something.
So it’s far from done as I had previously posted, but yeah, just thought I’d show you how I did it before (for whatever reason) photos get deleted. Umm, I don’t know if there is any sort...
Chateau Laurier
It’s a beautiful building
My Day
Hello! So as you know, I went to the Chateau Laurier Vintage Sale! What a success! Well, I was on a budget so it was a success putting that into consideration. I actually got quite a few things for not a lot of money at all. I went with a budget of $60 and still had some cash left over.
This was my … 3rd vintage sale there? They’re annual and on the first Sunday of every November...
My Process
So I can’t help but enjoy updating you on what’s going on in my studio. I’ve decided to take photos of this painting as it moves along. Of course, I won’t be posting a photo after every studio session because sometimes my progress is slow, but each time I put in maybe, 6 hours of work or so, I’ll post an update.
Also, I like showing the process from beginning to end...
